Aimee Handsaker graduated from Whitehouse Institute of Design in 2000 with a Diploma of Fashion Design and Textiles.
After graduating she entered the fashion industry as a designer/pattern maker with the label ‘Miss Lolli’, a Sydney based company targeting youth daywear and after 5 wear.
Aimee also completed the Bachelor of Technology Education in affiliation with Southern Cross University in Coffs Harbour mid 2004. Since gaining her teaching Degree, Aimee has been teaching design at Whitehouse Institute of Design specialising in illustration, colour theory and textiles.
Aimee teaches short courses, high school workshops,VET in schools and subjects in the advanced diploma courses.Whilst, based in Sydney, her involvement in the high school programs also takes her to regional NSW and interstate.
In 2002, Aimee was a finalist at the Cutting in Youth Fashion Design Awards in Sydney. Several years later, in 2004, she was sat at the other end of the catwalk, as one of the judges for the show.
Aimee enjoys teaching design and plans to return to industry in the future and her next adventure will be to travel overseas in 2006 to experience and gain inspiration from different cultures.
