The course is delivered part-time over 2 - 3 days per week, through practical studio-based teaching and learning, with the students competency assessed through visual and written assignment work and practical projects and technical skills tests.

Certificate IV graduates may work as assistant junior designers in a para-professional capacity as general, specialists or affiliated fashion design assistants.
