Salvo Stores welcomed Sydney’s A-list fashionistas on October 9, as Whitehouse students collaborated to make a statement about the new face of design. Whitehouse Fashion and Interior design students worked with raw materials from Salvo Stores to create unique one-off designs to support Fashion with a Conscience.
Garments made from tablecloths to exotic jaquards, and interiors students literally used everything, including the kitchen sink! A light installation based on a salvaged bathroom sink, cleverly rewired with two bulbs and a delicate light dripping from the tap, stole the attention of the evening.
Salvo Stores have a long history of charitable works, and it was a valuable and meaningful experience for our students to design innovative garments and objects, whilst supporting those less fortunate than themselves.
Peter Morrissey and Kirrily Johnson, both supporters of Fashion with a Conscience attended the event. Peter gave high praise for our student work.
