On the weekend of 9-11 May 2008, Sydney fashionistas flocked to Fashion Weekend, where many of Australia's top designers presented their lines. As one of the leading destinations of fashion education and inspiration, the team from the Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia was on hand to show the fashionable public where it all begins.
Whitehouse teamed up with partner, Sunbeam, designing a chic ironing installation and presented garments and imagery from 2007 Student Collections. As an added attraction, Whitehouse’s Melissa Laird (Academic Coordinator and Programme Coordinator - Fashion Design) and Peter Dwyer (Programme Coordinator - Styling and Design Coordination), demonstrated the depth of the Institute’s creativity, presenting live fashion illustration. The live demonstration attracted the attention of crowds as they queued for hourly fashion parades on the nearby catwalk and some fortunate on-lookers received original Whitehouse creations from the day.
Interested fashionistas were kept up to date with the latest fashion courses – and no doubt the latest fashion and styling advice – by Whitehouse students supporting the Institute.
Those interested in fashion design, styling & creative direction and interior design can now take short courses or a Bachelor of Design in Sydney or at spectacular new Whitehouse Melbourne campus.
