Design Industry Fast Track 3-Year BA+MA Programme

Design Industry Fast Track

Accelerated 3-Year Bachelor + Master of Design pathway at Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia

The Design Industry Fast Track at Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia is an accelerated three-year academic pathway designed for ambitious, creative individuals ready to launch their career in the design industry sooner. Students complete an accelerated Bachelor of Design in two years followed by a Master of Design in one year, graduating with two qualifications and a strong professional portfolio in half the time of a traditional university degree path.

Accelerated Bachelor of Design (2 Years)

Choose one specialisation: Fashion Design, Interior Design, or Creative Direction & Styling

In the first two years of the Fast Track, students complete an intensive, trimester-based Bachelor of Design, selecting one of three design specialisations: Fashion Design, Interior Design, or Creative Direction & Styling. The curriculum blends hands-on studio practice with critical thinking, creative research, and design business strategy. Students are immersed in industry-relevant projects and real-world briefs, building the technical skills and conceptual understanding required to excel in today’s competitive design landscape.

Throughout their studies, students benefit from exclusive access to industry opportunities including live competitions, guest lectures, exhibitions, brand collaborations, and portfolio reviews with industry professionals.

Industry Engagement & Opportunities

Whitehouse students are regularly connected to curated industry opportunities including national design competitions, fashion showcases, exhibitions, creative campaigns, and guest mentor sessions with professionals across fashion, interiors, styling, and design media. These experiences support each student in growing their professional network, refining their design practice, and exploring career pathways aligned to their specialisation.

Graduate Design Progression (1 Year)

A Three-Stage Postgraduate Program in One Year

Following the Bachelor of Design, students continue into a structured, trimester-based postgraduate year which leads to a Master of Design:

  • Trimester 1: Graduate Certificate of Design
A 12-week intensive focused on advanced conceptual development, critical thinking, and research-led practice. Equivalent to an Honours-level qualification, but with greater industry alignment and specialisation.
  • Trimester 2: Graduate Diploma of Design
A further 12 weeks exploring innovative design applications, client briefs, and interdisciplinary practice.
  • Trimester 3: Master of Design
The final trimester allows students to refine and present a major design project and present an off-site exhibition, positioning them as leaders in their field and preparing them for advanced creative careers internationally.
