Whitehouse Students Triumph Again at the 2024 VRCA Fashions on the Field
Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia is proud to celebrate yet another outstanding achievement for our students and graduates on the national stage. For the third consecutive year, Whitehouse has claimed the VRC Fashions on the Field Emerging Designer Award, presented in partnership with Vogue Australia.
This year, the spotlight shines on Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design) student, Victoria Cananzi, who took out first place with her breathtaking winning garment. Victoria’s design captured the judges’ attention for its innovation, craftsmanship, and creative vision, earning her a prize package valued at over $48,000, including an immersive internship experience in Japan with Vogue Japan.
The winning look was beautifully photographed by another talented Whitehouse student, Monica Dragut, a graduate of our Creative Direction and Styling program, showing how Whitehouse creativity continues to collaborate and shine across disciplines.
Adding to the celebration, Whitehouse Fashion Design graduate, Henry McElroy, secured second place with a remarkable collection, further underscoring the exceptional calibre of Whitehouse talent on the runway.
With over 50% of this year’s finalists coming from Whitehouse Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, our reputation for cultivating Australia’s leading emerging designers is stronger than ever. These successes are no accident—they are the result of dedication, creative exploration, and the pursuit of excellence that define our community and curriculum.
At Whitehouse, we believe the future of Australian design is created here. The achievements of Victoria, Henry, and so many of our students stand as proof that Whitehouse Institute continues to lead in preparing the next generation of designers to excel on the global stage.
Congratulations to all our finalists—you make us proud.
