Akira Isogawa and Whitehouse Institute: A Partnership in Design
At Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia, we are proud to celebrate our long-standing relationship with one of Australia’s most celebrated fashion designers, Akira Isogawa. For decades, Akira has been a friend, mentor, and collaborator with Whitehouse, and today, he continues to inspire the next generation of designers by teaching within our globally renowned Bachelor of Design.
A Global Perspective on Design
Akira Isogawa brings an international reputation for creativity and innovation into the Whitehouse classroom. Through his work in Illustration and our Super Future design studios, students are challenged to think beyond the traditional boundaries of fashion and design. Akira’s global industry perspective helps Whitehouse students connect their studies with the realities of the international design world.
Industry Engagement and Internships
Our students don’t just learn about Akira’s work—they experience it firsthand. Over the years, Whitehouse students have had the rare opportunity to intern with Akira at his Marrickville studio in Sydney, gaining invaluable industry experience and exposure to the inner workings of a globally recognised fashion label. These internships highlight Whitehouse’s unique commitment to linking education with professional practice.
Continuing to Inspire the Next Generation
Akira’s ongoing involvement with Whitehouse reflects our shared values of innovation, craftsmanship, and excellence in design education. His mentorship ensures that our students graduate with not only technical expertise but also a deep understanding of how to position themselves in the global design marketplace.
