PATHWAYS

The Graduate Certificate of Design is a direct pathway into the Master of Design and is the first trimester of the Master of Design. We may recommend this route if you do not meet the proposal requirements of the Master of Design, or if you would benefit from initial postgraduate study prior to transitioning to the full masters program.

Applicants applying through this pathway may ust submit a simplified project proposal (500 words) outlining their proposed fashion project, creative direction and intended outcomes. Further details and what to include below.

Depending on the creative work and technical skills demonstrated in the proposal and portfolio, applicants may also be required to complete a bridging course in patternmaking and garment construction. Any bridging requirements will be determined during the application assessment.

* All postgraduate applicants including Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters applicants must submit a Creative Portfolio.

‍

PROJECT PROPOSAL

Applicants must submit a 2000-word project proposal outlining a project or area they would like to explore. Your ideas may develop during your studies. At this stage, we are interested in understanding your creative interests, initial research and intended direction.

See further below for more detail on what to include.

STEP 3: DESIGN MEETING

Your Design Meeting is a chance for us to get to know you: your creative journey, your ambitions and what draws you to design. The meeting is also an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the course, fees and structure. We’ll use this conversation to assess your eligibility and make sure Whitehouse is the right fit for you.

Design Meetings are held online, so optional campus tours are arranged separately. A tour is a great way to see the studios, facilities and spaces where you’ll be learning.

STEP 4: INTERVIEW WITH NATIONAL CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Upon satisfactory completion of the Design Meeting, an interview with the National Creative Director will be arranged. If the National Creative Director is unavailable, the CEO may attend instead. This meeting may be online or in person and is a more detailed discussion of your fashion design background and your project proposal, including how it relates to the field of fashion design.

STEP 5: RECEIVE AN OFFER

Once you've attended your interview and sent through your documents, we'll be in touch with your outcome within 48 hours. The offer will be either a conditional or unconditional offer.

A conditional offer means your place is reserved pending any further requirement such as providing documentation.

An unconditional offer means you have already met the entry requirements for the course.

STEP 6: ENROL

Once you accept your offer, your place isn't officially secured until you've completed and submitted your enrolment form. Once we receive it along with your supporting documents, we'll be in touch with your official Confirmation of Enrolment and everything you need to get started.
